Anna is a Gandhian and has followed Gandhian methods in all his past activities. Also he has taken up the issue of the Lokpal Bill 4 times in the past year in the public following Gandhian methods of hunger strike etc. We saw the revolution going to great heights past August. I never saw anything close to this movement in my lifetime. At the time of Jayprakash, I was small.
Even though I take the efforts like hunger strike etc as a kind of blackmailing, but here I take Anna's means to be justified by the end. Anna is also asking investigation against 14 corrupt central ministers. Pranab Da escapes as he is the president now and has constitutional immunity.
Only request to Anna is that yes people are with him & his team. Again a revolution will build up. People will be charged. But please under no circumstances drop the revolution when it is on its height, midway.
Bapu or Mahatma Gandhi or Barrister Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, after his return from South Africa had hijacked the Indian National Congress; applied his methods of non-violence which were till then not known to common Indians & even Britishers. The illiterate mob worshiped their Bapu and got revolutionized. Impact was huge whether it was Dandi March, Non-cooperation movement or Quit India movement. But Bapu had this uncanny ability to drop the movement when it was on its peak if anywhere from the vast country there was a report of a small incidence of violence. The entire movement had to be dropped. I personally think that when a large country is worked up & agitated small incidences were to occur. Also I estimated we would have achieved independence in the 1920's had revolutions not been dropped by whimsical Bapu for nothing.
Funnily, Bapu agreed for India & Indians to participate in the 2nd World War on behalf of Britain. Guess he wanted us to fight a non-violent war!!
All this only to tell that we are with you Anna in your war against corruption. It is our war too. Only let the fight this time to be an one of the fight to achieve the final frontiers. We do not want you or anyone to die of hunger. We would like you to take the fight to the level that certain addresses on Janpath Road & Race Course Road face immobility till they have agreed to our noble cause without manipulating.
